The certified Texas canvass shows Cornyn finished first in the March 3 Republican primary with 42.0% (910,382 of 2,166,910 votes). He then lost the May 26 runoff to Ken Paxton with 36.2% (504,329 votes to 888,196). He topped 30% both times.
